Online shopping sites are fiercely competitive as can be seen by the ream of offers you find from some of the leading ones, with huge discounts and free gifts of every type. You already get things like quality jewellery and beach bags as a gift for shopping with a particular site, it will not be long before you start to see even bigger freebies like Free Laptops and other gadgets.
The problem I face with free offers, though, is knowing which ones genuinely represent good value for money and which are just marketing hype.
I have been tempted before into buying from a certain internet catalogue site, only to find out that I had failed to read the very small print and the full price items I bought did not qualify me for the free gift.
You also have to weigh up the base prices for what you are buying to see if it does really represent value, as there is no point paying over the odds for what you want just so that you can get a free plastic beach ball.
Part of the problem is that you are also so excited to be getting a free gift that you can even be tempted into buying something you do not really need or want and it is in the cold light of day that you realise what you have done.
